Dr Penberthy has previously been involved in research and undergraduate teaching at Monash University. His extensive experience in anaesthesia over twenty years has been gained working in Africa, the UK, New Zealand and now Australia. In 2000, Dr. Penberthy commenced private practice in Melbourne and has worked with Mr. Malham since 2001. He has a special interest in neuroanaesthesia.

Dr Josh Hargrove

Fellow of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA)

Bachelor of Medicine & Surgery (MBBS) University of Melbourne 1996

Dr Hargrove graduated from the University of Melbourne Medical School in 1996. He trained as a specialist anaesthetist  through the Royal Melbourne Hospital  training program becoming a fellow of the College of Anaesthetists in 2006.

Dr Hargrove is an associate and director of Anaesthetic Services ( and is on the editorial panel of He has an extensive private anaesthesia practice encompassing  a number surgical speciality areas. His areas of interest include anaesthesia for anterior and  posterior spinal surgery, cranial surgery,  robotic surgery, liver resection,  joint replacement surgery and management of difficult airways such as for temporomandibular joint replacement surgery. He first started working with Mr Malham in 2008.

Dr Hargrove is a member of the Australian Society of Anaesthetists and actively participates in the Continuing Professional Development program of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists.


Dr Lyndon Siu

Fellow of the Australian & New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA)

Following completion of specialist training in Australia, he gained further experience in regional anaesthesia, emergency airway management and research at St Michael’s IMG_2553Hospital, a university affiliated tertiary trauma centre in Toronto.

Since his return to Australia, he held a full time staff specialist position at Monash Medical Centre, a tertiary adult and paediatric hospital, and has been actively involved in postgraduate education and training. He currently combines a part time specialist appointment at Monash Medical Centre and a private practice at multiple private hospital networks in metropolitan Melbourne.
